I Scare Myself

I have been writing songs y’all. I rashly promised to make a new one every month for the fabbo Celebrating Songwriters series and so far so good. I find it very strange that one of them, La Maison, just happened to be all about the importance of Home in the Cajun culture. I keep wondering why I wrote it right before hurricane Katrina wiped out so much of New Orleans. I scare myself.

What I Did This Summer

I had a BIG time at my chocolate laden Birthday Show at Strings. A full house and nearly 20 pounds of chocolate (most of which will end up on my derriere) combined with my long list of special guests added up to a feel good evening all around. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE CHOCOLATE AND THE LOVE!!

I had a grand time at the Larkspur Cafe Theatre last Thursday, my first time hosting Celebrating Songwriters in Marin County. Chris Smith and Tracy Blackman (bravely subbing at the last minute for the absent John Haley-Walker) both put in a wonderful performance, and I played the new song I wrote just for the occasion, “La Maison”.
