Another wonderful opportunity to hear high quality original music in an intimate, unplugged setting.  Susan brings her lovely voice and Nashville influenced songs, Patrice her haunting harp and new CD!!  Currently residing in Nashville, TN, SUSAN ANDERS (born Susan Streitwieser) grew up in Berkeley, California, at the tail end of the revolutionary wave rolling through the Bay Area. After collecting degrees from UC Santa Cruz and SF State, she got herself into a bunch of weird and cool musical situations. Among the weird: delivering singing telegrams wearing a table around her waist, and teaching doo-wop versions of Beatles songs to Buddhist monks. Among the cool: stints in a cappella, rock, jazz and Motown bands that played throughout northern California.  At the turn of the century Susan felt her songs moving in a country direction. In 2002 Susan and Tom moved to Nashville, Tennessee. She released a solo CD, Release, and a lullaby CD, You Can Close Your Eyes. “She’s a wonderful singer, an amazing songwriter, and just plain all-’round fine entertainer.” – East Bay Express


PATRICE HAAN has just completed Bluest Blue, her second album of original songs for harp, piano, voice and other instruments.  Her tunes are often described as “beautiful, gorgeous, poetic and evocative, healing our souls and our heartache with the palpable love and the poetry of the music.”  Besides her intuitive and poetic harp compositions, Patrice is best known for her sultry and seductive vocal performances with Tony Marcus in the Oakland-based jazz ensemble Leftover Dreams.  Visit Patrice’s website at www.patricehaan.com

Stellar Celebrating Songwriters Benefit


Attack of the dreaded Web Site Invaders!! Somehow Someone hacked into carenarmstrong.com and infected it with (to quote my life/site-saving web-mistress) “literally hundreds” of links to THOSE kinds of websites. Suffice to say there were enough explicit anatomical references buried throughout my site to teach a physiology class. (well, maybe a sex education class?). It’s all better now, and I apologize to anyone who browsed over to carenarmstrong.com and found More Information than they were looking for.


In the Good News Department, I was selected to be a Premiere Showcaser at the FARWest Conferencein Irvine CA this November 6th, 7th, 8th. We return to the East Bay, where Celebrating Songwriters  originated over 10 years ago.  The folks at The Left Coast Concert Series have generously opened their doors to us and  will be hosting the show on a  monthly basis.
