| Wednesday, May 13 7:30pm doors 8pm concert | Strings presents an evening of Award-winning Songwriters with Steve Seskin and Caren Armstrong Steve Seskin sings in the First-Person Universal. The seven time Grammy winner’s music bridges that sometimes narrow, sometimes enormous gap between country and folk: country ballads blending with folk’s social conscience in much of his work. But then, blending and bringing together seem to be what Seskin is really about. A dynamic performer like no other! Caren Armstrong has been crafting “big, buoyant music” for four decades. Known for her dangerous honesty, wicked humor, and disarming vulnerability, Armstrong has “found a deeply original voice that the listener experiences as coming from within.” Caren’s songs transcend personal storytelling to speak universally to the humor, outrage, and beauty of the human condition. Joshua Zucker joins Caren on bass. Strings 6320 San Pablo Ave. (at 64th), Oakland $25 suggested donation at the door CASH ONLY PLEASE! |
